When will my session be ready?
Print galleries are available for your viewing within two weeks of your session date. If you have ordered a digital collection, your disc will be ready for you to pick up approximately 2 weeks after your session date. **please note, during the months of September thru November gallery and disc times may run up to 3 weeks.
Your gallery is available online for 5 days. It is password protected. Your images have image numbers at the bottom of each picture. Just email me your image size and image number and I will get you an invoice for your products. I accept cash, check or credit card through paypal but do charge an additional 3.5% if using a credit card. Print orders take approximately 1 week to receive back with the exception of canvases and albums which may take up to 3 weeks. There is a minimum order requirement of $200 on all print orders. For a full price list please email me.
How long are images kept on file?
Images should be ordered within 30 days. If you need additional time please let me know. I keep my images locally here at my fingertips for 90 days. After that they go into an archive for 6 months. Then they are gone.
Can you give me more information on your digital collection? What can I and cant I do with the disc?
Your disc includes high resolution digital files as well as a useage license to show your lab when you print the images. The useage license gives you permission to do the following:
-print the images as many times as you would like -share the images with family and friends -upload the images to the web and your personal computer
copyright of the images remains with Marissa Vargason Photography and prohibits you from doing any of the following:
-Selling the images -altering the images -using the images for any advertising or competition -redistributing the images, in any way, for profit
*Please note if you purchase a copyright license you are able to do the above listed things.
When you print your images, remember that not all photo labs are alike. We recommend www.mpix.com as an excellent place for near professional print quality available to consumers.
Regardless of where you choose to print your images, remember that these files have already been color corrected and retouched. To ensure the best possible print quality, please be sure to clarify with your lab that these files do not need color correction or retouching.
Marissa Vargason Photography does not guarantee any prints that are not ordered directly from her through her professional lab. To ensure the best quality print, ordes are recommended to be placed through her.
Please make sure that if you purchase a digital collection that you make copies of your disc and have them located in at least two separate places.
Please note with the digital collection products, since the disc is digital in nature, refunds are not given.
Do you do payment plans?
I do accept payment plans. Normally, what I require is a $50 deposit to hold the date of your session. The remainder of the session fee is due at the time of your scheduled session. If you are wanting to do a digital package, I apply the $50 deposit to the digital collection price and then half is due at the time of session, the other half is due when the disc is picked up.
Why is custom photography so much more expensive?
What are your memories worth to you? When I do a session for a client, I dont think of it as just taking pictures, I feel as if Im capturing those memories, that moment in time that records the beauty and emotion of a newborn or child, or the chemistry that a family has as a unit when they are together. Newborns change so quickly in those first few weeks. I will photograph a newborn and then by the time Ive got there pictures ready, those tiny details and curled up baby has put on baby fat and grown! During pregnancy we get so excited to rush out there and buy baby outfits, blankets and diaper bags, but we really should be investing in capturing that moment that will quickly change. Your baby will grow out of those cute newborn clothes and blankets, soon you will find that your baby that was using a diaper bag is not even in diapers now but your pictures of that newborn stage will always be there. A glimpse back into that moment in time. Custom photography IS expensive, but why would we settle for less? The plasma tv you had to have will die, the $200 pair of designer jeans will go out of style and we all know how electronics and iphones change every year those items then become obsolete in our world, but our childrens photographs? Their memories? These are items that will be with them forever, something they can show their kids and their grandkids.
So when thinking about a custom photographer, dont think about it as being “expensive” think about it as being an investment. One you will cherish for the rest of your life, everytime you look at those images and reminisce about your family. Thats priceless!
